Select the right pack

Calculate room volume (L × W × H, in feet). Choose the pack that matches the maximum cubic footage:

  • FB-0.5K: up to 500 ft³ (≈14.2 m³)

  • FB-1K: up to 1,000 ft³ (≈28.3 m³)

  • FB-2.5K: up to 2,500 ft³ (≈70.8 m³)

  • FB-4K: up to 4,000 ft³ (≈113.3 m³)

  • FB-10K: up to 10,000 ft³ (≈283.2 m³)

For spaces larger than a single pack’s rating, use multiple packs spaced evenly or treat in sections.

Preparation

  • Vacate area. Treat unoccupied spaces only—remove people, pets, and plants. Cover or remove exposed food.

  • Light control. Turn off lights and close blinds; chlorine dioxide (ClO₂) is photoreactive.

  • Seal the space. Close windows/doors and seal gaps to prevent gas escape. If treating individual rooms, isolate from adjacent areas.

  • Optional pre-clean/disinfect. Spray all surfaces with FuturaBio™ Liquid ClO₂ at 100 ppm and allow to air dry. The evaporation provides a synergistic “entourage” effect with the gas treatment.

  • Air movement. Place small circulating fans to promote even dispersion (do not aim directly at the jar).

Placement & activation

  • Place the FuturaBio Fast Release unit near the center of the room and as high as practical (ClO₂ is heavier than air; avoid placing under tables or obstructions).
    • Treating an area served by shared HVAC? Position a unit near the return so the system helps distribute ClO₂.

  • Open the jar. Remove the foil pouch, then remove the sachet from the pouch without cutting or tearing the sachet.

  • Put the sachet into the jar and fill with water to the fill line (≈ 175 mL). Do not overfill.

  • Leave immediately and keep the area closed for a minimum of 4 hours (overnight for heavy organic load/odor).

Re-entry & ventilation

  • After the dwell time, open doors/windows and ventilate for at least 1 hour (use fans if available).
    • Do not re-enter without appropriate PPE until ventilation is complete.
    • If available, verify ClO₂ is below your facility’s allowable limit with a meter before unprotected entry.

Disposal & post-treatment

  • Pour any remaining liquid in the jar down a drain with water and discard the spent sachet in regular trash.

  • No rinse is typically required; if residue is present from pre-cleaning, wipe or rinse as needed.

PPE & cautions

  • Wear protective gloves/eye protection when handling the activated solution.

  • If you must enter the area before full ventilation, use a NIOSH/MSHA-approved respirator for chlorine dioxide.

  • Do not mix with other chemicals. Keep away from acids, ammonia, or reducing agents.

  • Store packs in a cool, dark, dry place. Use only as directed on the label.

PPE Requirements

PROPER PPE: (REQUIRED DURING GENERATION PROCESS AND IF USING A POWERED APPLICATION DEVICE)
